Here's what we're going to do in lieu of an outcry against Police Action Abuses: Since
we can't get the citizens of Minneapolis to see how abusive their Police
FORCE is, we're going to have to talk to them in the only language they
understand - MONEY. Please follow these steps: 1) Write up a one page or less summary of your experience on March 29th, starting at 5:30 p.m. when the Mass started. Please make liberal use of mentioning the TIME and ADDRESS (600 block of 3rd Ave will suffice) of each incident. Send the report to the webmaster or follow the instructions on the IndyMedia Report on the April 2nd Meeting with the Mayor. “Refrain from using expletives; be concise but thorough.” 2) File a claim against the city. Again laid out in the same IndyMedia Report. While I didn't have my bike taken, I am filing suit for emotional duress inflicted upon me by the MPD. I am asking for damages equal to the cost of this police action and that the damages come out of the MPD Budget. These claims will be denied by the City, we will appeal and they will be brought to a committee chaired by Dean ZimmerPerson and the airing of MPD laundry will being in earnest. This is a process measured in months, our patience will be rewarded.
